1.      How to implement strategies correctly in a lesson plan in order to improve students´ receptive skills?

As the Receptive Skills are the ways in which people extract meaning from the discourse they see or hear (Al-Jawi, 2010).  There is no set format for integrating strategies correctly in a lesson.  I mean, teachers planning based on the underlying principle being that language is used to learn as well as to communicate. Over the years, the subject matter has determined the language students need to learn. To effectively improve students' receptive skills, we suggest implementing appropriate strategies in class such as:

First, consider incorporating pre-reading or pre-listening activities to activate prior knowledge and set the context. Then, employ engaging materials such as authentic texts or multimedia resources relevant to students' interests and language proficiency levels.

During the lesson, integrate interactive tasks like comprehension questions, predicting activities, or listening/watching for specific information. Additionally, encourage peer collaboration through group discussions or pair work to enhance comprehension and foster language practice.

Finally, provide ample opportunities for feedback and reflection, allowing students to assess their progress and identify areas for improvement. By employing these strategies thoughtfully, students can effectively enhance their receptive skills while actively engaging with the lesson content.

2. How to guarantee that the selected strategies may achieve positive results in listening and reading process in class?

To ensure that the strategies we choose for teaching English lead to positive outcomes in listening and reading skills, we focus on a few key principles.

Understanding the students' individual needs and learning styles is the most important aspect and step number one. The approach can be customized to suit their preferences and proficiency levels. The use of a specific style or approach that is identified as a student's learning style will result in a more effective learning experience for students. Taking a bit of time and care to get to know them as individuals can make you a more effective and impactful teacher (Anderssen, 2023). Then, it’s necessary to create a more engaging and effective learning environment because increases students’ attention and focus, promotes meaningful learning experiences, encourages higher levels of student performance, and motivates students to practice higher-level critical thinking skills (Stanton, 2022).

Additionally, is imperative to set clear objectives for each lesson, outlining specific goals for listening and reading proficiency. Clear learning objectives convey the expectations that the instructor and by extension, the academic field has in terms of what students should know and be able to do after completing a course of study. So, they help students better understand course activities and increase student performance on assessments (Rebecca B. - Melissa M. Csikari, 2022). Another important aspect is incorporating a variety of materials and interactive activities keeps students actively engaged and helps reinforce their skills. When students are actively involved in the learning process, they are more likely to stay engaged and focused. Interactive teaching strategies such as games, simulations, and role-playing activities can help to capture your students' attention and make learning fun (Efre, 2023).

In addition, providing regular feedback and opportunities for reflection allows students to track their progress and make improvements. It helps to encourage self-assessment and reflection to identify areas for improvement and set goals for themselves. Finally, continuously assessing their understanding and adapting my teaching strategies accordingly ensures that every student has the support they need to succeed in their language learning journey and also to create an inclusive and dynamic learning environment where students can develop their listening and reading skills effectively.
